Playing the “Glad Game”

Playing the “Glad Game”

The “glad game” is a game that can be played in daily life. It will remind you that your day isn’t truly going as badly as you feel. Did you get a flat tire on your way to work? Did you get laid off from your job? Maybe you failed a test?

Ok, so you got a flat tire on the way to work. Great, now you’re running late and you’re stranded on the side of the highway. You quickly Google a local body shop and they let you know that they can come out and help you for $100. Well, since you don’t know how to change a tire, just your luck, you agree to paying $100 so it can be fixed for you. Wow, poor you.

This is where the game comes to play. Yes you got a flat tire, the world is aware. Now your whole day is ruined. Well, not exactly. Can’t you be glad it was only one tire instead of two? Did you think that the local body shop you just called had been struggling to get by and you were that bit of hope for them. They are now able to pay that electric bill that an hour earlier they had no idea how they would pay. If you think of obstacles in this way, you WILL live a happier life. Don’t ask “why me?” Don’t throw a pity party! Why? Well, there are people fighting the battles of their life and you would never know. If they can be glad, can’t we too?
